You want to work at F4S because you realise that school was disconnected from the real world. You believe that there is a better way to make kids excited about their future and to help them experience fulfilling productive lives.
You believe that schools can use technology to change what they do from the inside out. You have exciting ideas to bring to the table to help us see things differently and do better.
You understand that to make a real impact you need to work in partnership. You are able to build strong relationships with educators, volunteers, businesses and other like-minded partners who share our commitment to young people.
At Maths4Girls our mission is to encourage more girls to study maths past GCSE and ultimately close the gender gap in STEM. This we believe will improve the skills of our future workforce, the productivity of our businesses, and the life chances of our children and grandchildren, therefore creating a better future for all.
We accomplish this by inviting female role models from across industries to speak in schools and explain to 11-14 year old girls how they use mathematics in their everyday professional lives, to inspire them and show them that maths can open up opportunities and choices in careers and in life. Remarkably, a single encounter with a role model elevates the perceived importance of mathematics by 15% in the minds of girls.
